The entire length of the promenade, from the port to the airport, has a thriving prostitute culture. Not only are there prostitutes, but an entire culture of bicycle messengers that provide a communication network between the workers and the organizations behind them. Beautiful part of Nice, the beach is just great, perfect to relax. It is also possible to rent some chairs at the beach for a fair price, highly recommended. Having seen many pictures before selecting Nice as our next destination, I can only say the images do not do it justice and it is a sight you must see with your own eyes!
If you have visited Miami or Hvar previously, it is almost like an amalgamation of both but also has it's own unique nature about it. It probably takes minutes to walk the length of the promenade in Nice so well worth it for the scenic photos. There are tons of restaurants along the promenade as well as hotels, casinos and desert parlours with the most amazing ice cream! You will not be disappointed with Promenade des Anglais if you decide to visit Nice!
The promenade itself is lovely, you can walk for miles and come across all different little beaches, the only problem is the beaches you can get on public and not private are packed like sardines Promenade des Anglais is a lovely stretch along the beachfront of Nice.
Great place to walk, to sit and people watch in the many chairs, or frequent one if the restaurants along the way. If you are looking to swim you can pop into the water anywhere, or pay for your own beach lounge at one of the many private beach clubs. This is where you sit to watch the beautiful people pass by. There are plenty of seats along the promenade in both the sun or shade.
