When we first arrived we was already preparing to book a return visit later on this year, the hotel is lovely and modern with extra touches like the robes in your room, the olive oil toiletries and the helpful staff. Unfortunately after day 3 of listening to the man in the main bar singing the same repetitive songs he has sung all week we decided to venture down to watch the evening show.
Big mistake, at We also visited one of the hotel restaurants, the taverna, what a disaster! Food not cooked properly, waiters calling us liars whilst we showed the raw pork they had served and then laughing to each other, disgusting service and attitude, overall the hotel looks great but there is so much improvement needed we would definitely not return, good for kids but that's it, Thompson changed the hotel to family life after we booked and failed to mention this before we arrived.
We stayed at the Blue Lagoon Princess early September for one week in one of the junior swim up suites. When we arrived we were greeted with some fizz, check in was very quick and had to wait for an hour for our room. This was no problem as we went off to have some lunch at the grill restaurant. The suite was fantastic, had everything you needed. The only problem was that the mini bar wasn't filled, you had to go and get fresh bottle water everyday No other drinks supplied compared to other all inclusive hotels.
The restaurant food had a good choice but we found that the food was only warm and not hot!. There isn't much to do outside the hotel as very rundown but we knew this before we went. Perfect if you want to just relax in the sun! Not sure if I would go back to this hotel. Returned for our second stay on the penultimate week of the season in a junior suite with private pool. After contacting the hotel direct we where allocated the same suite as we stayed in on our first visit, excellently located and well equipped, the room review can be read on my first review.
Check in was quick and simple even though there was a coach full of guests, reception staff polite and professional with the majority of them remembering us from the first visit and welcoming us back, excellent service from the reception manager and the customer relations manager yet again to make our stay perfect. Obviously the hotel was completed by our return and had progressed into what it promised to be, grounds maturing nicely, rooms still immaculate after the first season, great food from the three restaurants and all the staff are excellent, as a nice touch there was a bottle of cava in our room on arrival accompanied by fruit and chocolates.
