We had melting tar on the roads it was so hot! The various accommodations were very good and we really enjoyed our stays at Hellnar where we had 6 Orcas hunting off shore and the farm at Stong surrounded by Iceland wildlife where we took some great photos.
Here we talked with the owners about local wildlife and the farming economy and the food here was very good. Everywhere we stayed was clean and welcoming. We visited many highlights as you suggested but for us both it was unbelievable to see so many bird species that are rare or non-existent in the UK. We saw and photographed them all! The car hire was fine and no problems apart from the fine we picked up going through the tunnel north of Akureyri linking email to follow on this.
So, a really good trip and thank you. We booked about 9 months in advance and Sveindis remained available to us throughout the duration of that time, kindly answering any questions or concerns we had. Everything was like clock work from the moment we stepped off the plane. We did not have a single problem with any of the bookings and greatly enjoyed every single tour we went on.
